Plus, we can apply Flickr cluster to it that will sort all the relevant threads together.

Out of curiosity, how would this be better than simply using the text in the threads?
If one thinks certain keywords apply but haven't been mentioned, one can simply... mention them.
Tags: indexing, search
Or would these be personal tags, not visible to others?

not really necessary.
tags are usually used for things like photos, music or bookmarks .. things which are otherwise not easily organized.
flickr threads are full of text and very easy to search and so tags aren't very useful.

That is odd, Striatic. By your reasoning, blog posts should not have nor need tags. Yet they do and they are extremely useful.
I just want to be able to categorize threads according to tags. This will make searching for a specific topic easier. And maybe use the Flickr tag clustery goodness.
I can see it being useful in say, Flickr Help Forum or Flickr Ideas Forum, where certain help queries and answers will be grouped together and allow people to find answers quicker.
Double G: Mm. I am not sure. But I would love to be able to search threads just using my tags with the option of using everyone's tags.
As for adding keywords in the text, I want to be able to ignore that like what you are able to do with photos. Search by "tags only."
